On September 20 & 21, 4th grade students in Meramec Valley participated in the "Paddle Your Parks" program sponsored by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Urban Waters Federal Partnership. Students traveled to George Winter Park in Fenton to participate in hand-on labs that included Water Safety Briefing, Canoe & On-the-Water Learning, and on-land Wetland Labs.
This program is made available to 4th grade students in St. Louis County, Jefferson County and Franklin County. Students also received EKiP Passes (Every Kid in a Park), which will allow the student and 3 family members free entry to any national parks and recreation area.

Homecoming week kicked off on Saturday, Sept. 22 with the Homecoming Parade. The weather was perfect and the turnout was awesome! This year's theme is "Around the World" and will continue to be celebrated throughout the week with the following events:
On Wednesday, Sept. 19, Coleman Elementary welcomed representatives from the St. Louis Blues as part of the organization’s Street Blues Program. These Blues representatives worked with each PE class throughout the day to teach students how to play street hockey. Along with teaching the students, they also delivered equipment that the school will get to keep. The equipment included two nets, four sets of goalie equipment (pads and sticks), 36 sticks, one case of balls and one curriculum guide.
