Monday, March 23
Staff will be working virtually to prepare and discuss what learning will look like for the next two weeks.
District, Building, and Teacher contact with families will also begin. Elementary and Intermediate teachers will be emailing home all pertinent information, including online program login information. Secondary teachers will be sharing online review and practice through our Google Classroom or Canvas online learning platforms. Hard copy packets will be available for pick-up on Tuesday.
The MVR-III School District believes learning during this time of school closure should focus on review and practice for our students. We will have a landing page on the district website for all available district learning resources titled, “Covid Closure- Alternative Methods for Instruction.” All teachers will be available by email, Monday-Friday 8:00am-3:00pm during this time of school closure for any questions or learning help.
Pick-up opportunities for Essential Student Supplies and Student Medication
Monday, March 23, from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. and again from 4-6 p.m, families will have the opportunity to stop by buildings to retrieve essential student supplies and medication. Essential supplies are those things needed to complete work at home (i.e. Chromebooks for students in grades 7-12, textbooks, binders, instruments). Please do not come to simply retrieve personal items at this time. Also, we respectfully ask that you use this time efficiently and do not congregate in the schools due to the Health Department’s recommendations. Please note the following additional guidelines:
*For student medication retrieval, we ask that only one person per family enter the building to pick it up from the nurse.
*No more than 10 parents or students will be permitted to enter the building at one time. Some visitors will be asked to remain in their vehicle to stay within the Health Department’s recommendations.
*Please use social distancing when inside the building.
*This is not an opportunity for students to “catch-up” with friends.
*If you or anyone in your household is exhibiting cold or flu-like symptoms, please do not come to the schools.
*Those unable to attend the pick-up on Monday may reach out to your building’s office to request a scheduled pick-up later in the week or contact your child’s school for delivery assistance.
Student Learning Update
On the evening of Monday, March 23rd, additional information and access to all student learning opportunities or Alternative Methods of Instruction will be sent to all MVR-III families. Again, teachers will use Monday, March 23rd, to prepare learning opportunities for review and practice during school closure. Paper copies of student work will be available on Tuesday to parents choosing this traditional option or for families that do not have internet access.
Tuesday, March 24
Students may begin working on learning opportunities online. The primary focus for learning during this time is on practice, review, and reinforcement of skills already taught. Printed paper learning packets will be available at any of the three district Food Distribution Centers (Coleman, Pacific Intermediate, and Robertsville) during meal pick up times 8:30-10:30am. If families are in need of food and/or student work delivery, please contact your child’s school directly.
Teachers will be readily available from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday - Friday. Parents can reach teachers by email and any other means the teacher has established during these hours. In general, teachers will respond as quickly as they are able, but in all cases within a 24 hour period. If contacted after 3:00 p.m. on Friday, a response will be given no later than 3:00 p.m. on the following Monday.
