|A LETTER TO GRADUATING SENIORS|
Dear Class of 2020,
As you know, this spring has come with many unexpected challenges for our entire Meramec Valley R-III School District community. The COVID-19 pandemic has presented an incredibly difficult situation that has led to the need for creative thinking and significant changes to our normal school operations.
Unfortunately, we are writing today to inform you that we have decided to postpone our graduation ceremony, originally scheduled for Sunday, May 17th. We are acting out of an abundance of caution to protect the safety of you and your loved ones.
While this is surely saddening news, we are happy to share that a new graduation date has been set. Currently, the graduation ceremony will be held on Sunday, July 19th, at 7 p.m. However, this is subject to change as the situation surrounding COVID-19 continues to evolve. In the event July 19th would be canceled, Saturday, August 8th, would become the graduation date.
Additionally, we would like to Celebrate the Class of 2020 with a Seniors Week. We have set tentative dates for the following events, more details to follow.

Thursday, July 16th
Friday, July 17th

The District and Pacific High School will also be highlighting the Class of 2020 Seniors Week on social media and through other means to help ensure our seniors have the proper sendoff. We recognize that High School Graduation is a significant milestone and you should be very proud of this accomplishment!
With that, we want to thank you for your patience, understanding, and flexibility during this unprecedented time. We are heartened to see you supporting one another as we all work diligently to manage this situation together.
On a final note, the last day of virtual learning for seniors is scheduled for Friday, May 8th.
We encourage you to reflect on what an achievement graduation is and look forward to sharing great memories with you all.
