As a school district, we have been closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and how it could impact a variety of programming and events, including summer school. While we appear to be seeing positive trends in our county, it is becoming apparent that we will not be ready to return for a June summer school session. However, a July summer school session is looking promising. Thus, we are writing to inform you that we have made the decision to move the Summer Discovery Summer School Program to July 6-31, 2020. Please know that we did not take this decision lightly and are acting with our students’ safety and wellbeing as a top priority.
We know the postponement of summer school programming is disappointing for many of our students, staff, and families. We will continue with online programming in June for students who need to engage in credit recovery to fulfill credit or promotion requirements. In addition, online credit acquisition courses will still be available in June for high school students. Building principals will follow up with parents and students who need to participate in credit recovery.
We want to thank you for your patience, understanding, and flexibility during this unprecedented time in our community. The focus for the July Summer Discovery program will now include 4th quarter essential skill content, while still maintaining a high engagement, fun summer learning environment.
For those who already signed up for the June session, we will automatically roll over your enrollment to the July session. If you do not wish for your student to attend in July, please contact your child’s school office directly to have them removed from the summer school roster.

If you have any questions, please contact your student’s school or email your student’s principal.
