Good afternoon Truman Tribe!
Welcome to the Truman Summer Discovery Program! You are receiving this email as a confirmation and preparation to our 2020 Summer School program! It will be a 20 day program running from July 6th - 31st. The hours are 8:35am - 3:40pm and students may enter the building as early as 8:05am. All students may eat breakfast and lunch for free during the summer program. Due to Covid-19 precautions we are requesting that if a student does bring a lunch to school that they bring it in a disposable container(s), even the bag being disposable. Please do not send students with any backpacks or supplies. We have arranged to have everything necessary for your student throughout the school day so that NO items are being transported from home to school!
If your student will be a parent pick-up/Car Rider in the afternoon and you are new to Truman Elementary OR you are now going to pick-up or dismiss from our Car Rider Line you will need to stop by the office and get a blue sign for your car. (Families in 1st - 4th grade may use the sign they already have). Parent pick-ups/Car Riders line up around our front circle lot. Students will be brought out to your car at the end of the day.
Please call the office between 8am-4pm to set up a time before July 6th to pick a blue sign up and we will bring it out to you.
If your student will be riding the bus in the afternoon you will not need a blue car rider sign. Please be aware of this dismissal change - we are focusing on THREE dismissal options for your student. Your student is either a SACC student, Bus Rider, or Car Rider. We will NOT have parents signing out in the front of the building as we are limiting the congestion it causes in the main entrance. We will always accommodate for emergency or unexpected situations so please never hesitate to call the office should a change in dismissal plans occur.
Bus routes can be found here: https://5il.co/hfj8
We appreciate your patience the first week as buses may run early or late while they work out any issues with the route. It is highly recommended that any student that will be riding the bus regularly rides the bus on the first day of school. You may meet the bus at school and take a picture outside.
Please read and sign this brief acknowledgment of summer school expectations:

Your students teacher will be reaching out soon via email to let you know their name and room number, as well as, their preferred way of contact/communication for the summer. If for any reason you are not planning on attending Truman Elementary’s Summer Discovery Program please call the office at 636-271-1434.
It is going to be so wonderful to have students back in the building.
We look forward to an exciting and fun summer session!
