2020-2021 School Year
Below you will have a chance to review a list of protocols that our Nike Staff have put into place and will follow on a daily basis in order to ensure we are educating and implementing a safe and secure learning environment for all students and staff.
NIKE ELEMENTARY COVID-19 PROTOCOLS & PROCEDURES
First Few Weeks of School
We will focus on safety while at school, practice safety precautions (hand washing, staying in assigned seats, moving through the halls, standing on tape while waiting, bathroom limitations, & social emotional learning).
Our Nurse and Principal will be in the classrooms daily to review, remind, and help explain the purpose of these changes and the need to focus on them for better understanding and to allow students a chance to hear the same message from different staff members.
Students will remain in the same groups, socially distanced.
Students/Staff will hand sanitize as they enter the room.
All other precautions being followed in the classroom below apply and are implemented in SACC as well!
Daily Student Arrival
Staff will open the car doors for students. Parents, please remain inside your vehicles.
All students will sanitize as they enter the building.
Breakfast will be delivered to each classroom.
All hallways have dumping stations and trash cans.
Teachers will spray the desk or table after students are finished eating.
Our custodian will come around to clean any big spills.
Entering a Room
Students will enter the classroom, sanitize and go directly to their seats.
Doors can be open to increase airflow and avoid touching the handle; however, they must remain locked.
Movement Around the Building
There are floor markings that are spaced three feet apart to ensure distancing in the hallways.
We will remind students to keep spacing while walking and when stagnant (waiting for lunch, bathroom, etc).
We will use the same line order when traveling as a class.

Music, Library and Art will distance with a seating chart and students will wear face shields.

We will often communicate through the doorbell and bring the student out to you if picking up early.
***If a student is sent home or reports being absent for a sick reason. We will ask the student to be symptom free for 24 hours before they return to school. We will also advise the use of the Franklin County Self Screen upon their return to school.
