Tribe Protocols

 

First Few Weeks of School

  • We will focus on safety while at school, practice safety precautions (hand washing, staying in assigned seats, moving through the halls, standing on purple circles while waiting, bathroom limitations, & social emotional learning.)

  • Our Nurse and Principal will be in the classrooms daily to review, remind, and help explain the purpose of these changes and the need to focus on them for better understanding and to allow students a chance to hear the same message from all different staff! 

SACC

  • Students will remain in the same groups socially distanced.

  • Students/Staff will hand sanitize as they enter the room.

  • All other precautions being followed in the classroom below apply and are implemented in SACC as well!

Daily Student Arrival

  • All drop offs (Bus and Car Riders) will be pulling AROUND the outside driveway path AROUND our building and dropping off at the cafeteria doors

  • Staff will open the car doors for parents to speed the process up 

  • All students will sanitize as they enter our building

Breakfast

  • All students will grab their breakfast as they enter and continue to walk straight to class

  • All hallways will have dumping stations and trash cans 

  • Teachers will spray the desk or table after students are done eating

  • Our custodian will come around to clean any big spills

Entering A Room

  • Students will enter the classroom, sanitize, and go directly to their seat

  • Doors can be open to increase airflow and avoid touching the handle, however; they must remain locked.

Movement Around Building

  • Purple Circles on the floor throughout the building to help with spacing. 

  • We will remind students to keep spacing while walking and for sure when stagnant (waiting for lunch, bathroom, etc.)

  • We will use the same line order when traveling as a class ( we refer to this as Number Order)

Specials

  • PE will be outside as much as possible 

  • Music, Library, and Art will social distance with seating chart & student will wear their face shields

  • For library books they will have a 24 hour wait period before being returned to the circulation and allowed to check out again

  • For Art students will use santized school supplies that will never leave the Art room

  • Guidance Lessons will be in the classroom WEEKLY!!! 

Lunch

  • Students will wash hands prior to lunch 

  • We will have a maximum of 3 classes in the cafe’ at a time 

  • 6 students maximum to a table

  • Students sit in their ASSIGNED seat

  • Students will use the restroom and wash hands on their way back to the classroom after lunch

  • Lunchboxes will be allowed

Recess

  • Students will sanitize on the way to the playground

  • There will only be 2 classes maximum on the playground at a time

  • Students will wash hands when returning from the playground

  • When in Orange Status all recess balls and equipment will be put away and only 1 class will be allowed on the playground at a time.

Inside The Classroom

  • Teachers will cover health and safety expectations and precautions daily

  • Students will be numbered - They will line up in number order, eat at lunch in number order, and sit in number order during Specials

  • There will be an established seating chart to only be changed per quarter 

*This should reflect the students “number order”

  • Small groups, guided reading and centers groupings should try to stay as consistent as possible.  

  • Guided Reading and other small group activities (centers) with the teacher within 6 feet of the same students should stay under 15 minutes

  • When 3 feet spacing is not possible teachers and students will use face shields and/or barriers

  • Students will sanitize when moving between community items & centers

  • Books from student book boxes will sit 24 hrs before recirculation

  • Title students will take their face shield to Title & Interventions with them

  • Students will sanitize before touching the interactive TV (make sure hands are dry)

  • If the teacher is teaching the whole group more than 6 ft apart they may remove their face covering

Bathrooms

  • All restrooms will be at 50% occupancy. 

  • All bathrooms should only have 2 students in at a time

  • The middle stahl will be taped off for NO USE

  • There are circles outside of the bathroom to line up 

  • All water fountains are closed - please send a water bottle with students daily. 

        *If a student forgets or does not bring a water bottle we will have dixie cups teachers can fill at the water fountains for students and we will have (limited) disposable plastic water bottles for students as needed. 

Dismissal

  • SACC will pick up students from your class and walked, spaced out, to the SACC wing

  • Car Riders will be picked up from your classroom and sit spaced out in the hallway 

  • Bus Riders will be called ONE BUS AT A TIME to exit their room and walk to their bus

  • *Specials/Title/Counselor will monitor the hallways throughout dismissal

Office

  • We will have no visitors at this time. 

  • If you need to come on an as needed basis, a mask is required upon entry of the building and we will keep the conversation within the foyer.

  • We often will communicate through the doorbell and bring the student out to you in case of picking up under any as needed circumstance. 

Communication

***If a student is sent home or reports being absent for a “sick” reason.  We will ask the student to be symptom free for 24 hours before they return. We will also advise the use of the Franklin County Self Screen upon their return to school.
