Hello May

Tribe Families,

This school year has been a year of such awesome growth for our students. I am so very proud of all of their hard work. Take the time this summer to enjoy the time off, visit with family, read with your child, and rejuvenate – the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year will be here in the blink of an eye.

We are offering MVR3 Summer Discovery Program here at Truman Elementary. We will combine with Coleman Elementary students this summer. Right now we are still accepting registration however there is a waitlist as we start to building classes. Please contact the office if you need anything at all. The office is open during the summer from 8:05 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.

SACC is offered this summer before and after summer school for the months of June and all day care for the month of July. Please look on our website or reach out to the office if you are in need of a flyer or want more information on how to get your kiddo registered.

As we reflect on the 2020-2021 school year, please join me in acknowledging and celebrating the many wonderful learning experiences and educational opportunities that have taken place for our students at Truman Elementary School. Truman's unique character, excellence in teaching, and the tremendous dedication and talent of our staff continues to make it a wonderful and special learning environment. I want to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation to the staff, students, and families of this special Tribe for all their efforts this year.

PHS Seniors!

It's hard to believe our seniors have 14 days left of school!  To ensure we finish strong we have few more events I would like to share with you.

*Rock & Roll Bingo - Saturday, May 8.  Join us for a fun evening of Rock & Roll Bingo benefiting Pacific High School Project Graduation!  It’s BINGO with songs instead of numbers!  We will also have a few items up for grabs at our silent auction.  Doors open at 6 pm and Bingo will begin at 7 pm.  Admissions costs only $25 per person or purchase a table for 8 in advance for $175.  Tables are limited, register early!  The event is 21+ and masks are required.  Contact Robin Mach at rmach@mvr3.k12.mo.us or 636-248-1167 to sign up.

*Parklane Jewelry Fundraiser - this is online and runs through May 12.  Get something for yourself or a friend!  Mother's Day will be here soon!  Follow the link to order:

*Scentsy Fundraiser - this is online and runs through May 17.  It's that time of the year we are start spring cleaning so why not get something to make your home smell great too!  This would be another great gift idea for Mother's Day.  Follow the link to order:  https://paid2party.scentsy.us/party/14288845/project-graduation-fundraiser

***If you are not able to attend or purchase anything, that's okay!  You can still support us by sharing our events.  Please feel free to share this email or go online on FB and share our events.  If you go on FB search for Pacific High School Project Graduation and look under the events tab.

Once again, we cannot thank you enough for your continued support of our seniors.  Without the support of parents, staff, and the community, Project Graduation would not be possible.

Teacher Appreciation Week:

Tonight, Monday May 3rd.

Did you know? Interacting with animals has been shown to decrease levels of cortisol (a stress-related hormone) and lower blood pressure. Other studies have found that animals can reduce loneliness, increase feelings of social support and boost your mood. As we kick of Teacher Appreciation Week @ Truman Elementary, staff will have time to visit and cuddle with puppies throughout the day today. However, we didn’t want to stop the fun there. Truman Elementary has teamed up with local Home 2 Home Orphanage and we want to provide an opportunity for our community to help find forever homes for these pups. We will be hosting a Pet & Preview Even tonight from 4:00-6:00pm in our Cafeteria! Please consider stopping by, and note, no one will be going home with a puppy today – this will start the preview process and if you find a connection or pup that your family is interested in you will receive information on next steps in the adoption process!
