Dear Tribe Families,
I hope that you have had a great winter break from school. We are now through two quarters of
this school year and the second quarter report cards will be available electronically (sent to your email) on Wednesday, January 13th. If you have any questions about your child's report card, please contact your child's teacher via Class Dojo!
It looks like winter has arrived. Please make sure that your child is appropriately dressed for
outdoor recess. We make every effort to go outside to play and run off energy as temperatures
allow, with wind chill, or unless it is too wet. Hats, mittens, and winter coat are necessities. If
you need assistance with any of those items, please contact Mrs. Lydon-Lorson via Class Dojo!
Social and Emotional Health
I will CONTINUE to make this a talking point as we push forward into another year of
“unknowns”. The outbreak of COVID-19 may be stressful for people and communities. Fear
and anxiety about a disease can be overwhelming and cause strong emotions in adults and
children. Everyone reacts differently to stressful situations. The emotional impact of an
emergency on a person can depend on the person’s characteristics and experiences, the social and economic circumstances of the person and their community, and the availability of local resources. People can become more distressed if they see repeated images or hear repeated reports about the outbreak in the media. Children react, in part, on what they see from the adults around them. When parents and caregivers deal with the COVID-19 calmly and confidently, they can provide the best support for their children. Parents can be more reassuring to others around them, especially children, if they are better prepared. Please reach out to me if you need resources or any support in any way!
