We are proud to announce that Coleman Elementary has been named a 2026 State School of Character, and Robertsville Elementary has been named a 2026 National School of Character!

The honors, awarded by Character.org, recognize schools that demonstrate a strong commitment to developing a positive school culture, ethical leadership, and character growth among students.

"With Coleman and Robertsville earning these prestigious honors, our district continues to lead with integrity. This success is a testament to the perseverance of our staff and the strength of our parents and community partners,” said Assistant Superintendent Dr. Ketina Armstrong. “We are dedicated to building a culture of learning where our core values aren't just words, but actions that drive student success. Our schools are dedicated to ensuring Meramec Valley is a place where we do what’s best for kids.”

Robertsville Elementary is the district’s fourth school to earn National School of Character recognition, while Coleman Elementary is the fifth to be named a State School of Character.

Character.org recognized 103 schools worldwide as 2026 State and National Schools of Character. This year’s honorees include 94 schools across the United States and nine international schools, marking a record number of global recipients.

Both designations recognize schools that exemplify the values and practices outlined in Character.org’s 11 Principles Framework for Schools, a research-based approach that helps educators intentionally cultivate environments where students grow academically while also developing important character strengths.
