State DVP Officer Announcement/ Press Release:

DECA Fall Leadership & State District VP Officers Conference

Ten high school students were recently named state District Vice President officers for the Missouri Association of DECA. The students were elected and installed during the Missouri DECA Fall Leadership and DVP Officer Election Conference held Oct. 12-13 in Branson, MO. The annual state conference was attended by more than 600 high school marketing students and their teachers.

The 2019-2020 District Vice Presidents include:

District 1 - Mackenzie Albright from Park Hill High School - Advisor, Matt Magnuson

District 2 - Alan McCarter from Boonslick Technical Education Center - Advisor, Leslie Crider District 3 –Alivia Brewer from Blue Springs South High School – Advisor, Shelli Ray

District 4 – Nicole Overbay from Fort Osage Career & Tech Center – Advisor, Tracy Hastings

District 5 – Jake Thoenen from Camdenton High School – Advisor, Karen Fehrmann

District 6 – Olivia Riek from Wentzville Timberland High School – Advisor, Michael Oliva

District 8 – Kelci Moore from Pacific High School – Advisor, Nancy Pfeiffer

District 9 – Bao Nguyen from Bayless High School – Advisor, Colton Wooldridge

District 10 – Elijah Clymer from East Newton High School – Advisor, Denise Stafford

District 11 – Ethan Paladino from Ozark High School – Advisor, Grant Jenkins

The newly elected executive officers were determined on the basis of their written test, screening and nominating committee interview, and number of ballots cast by the voting delegates. Finalists were asked office related questions during the election session. Voting this year was done online this year to determine the final selection of executive officers. Serving as a state officer provides DECA members the opportunity to develop their leadership skills and professionalism that is essential for a successful career.

DECA is an international association of high school students studying marketing, finance, hospitality and management. The state affiliate of the DECA Inc. organization is the Career and Technical Student Organization for Missouri. Missouri DECA is a nationally recognized association with over 7000 members. There are 12 DECA districts and 153 DECA chapters in Missouri.
