This year marked the launch of Project PHS, a new club at Pacific High School with a mission to enhance and improve our campus through hands-on projects that benefit the entire school community. Co-sponsored by teachers Jeff Kinsley and Kelsey Vancil, the club has already made a meaningful impact in its first year and it’s only just beginning.
From small fixes to major upgrades, Project PHS has tackled a wide range of projects designed to make our school a more welcoming and functional place. Early in the year, club members repaired library furniture, including fixing the broken legs on several couches and chairs, as well as other small projects.
The highlight of the year’s work has been the transformation of the outdoor classroom that is located outside next to the auditorium. Once an underutilized area, this space has received a complete upgrade thanks to the dedication and hard work of Project PHS members. The stage and podium were refinished and the surrounding benches were stained to enhance both durability and appearance. With Wi-Fi reaching the area, this refreshed space is great for learning, discussions, or creative activities.
The work of Project PHS this year shows the power of student initiative and teamwork. As the club continues to grow, so will its positive influence on the Pacific High School community.
