PHS Hosts Missouri Association of Student Councils South Central District Convention

PHS hosted the Missouri Association of Student Councils South Central District Convention last week creating an incredible event and day of learning, engaging, collaborating, and inspiring students and sponsors to find new ways to create a positive impact on their communities and schools. They decorated the entire first floor of the school with a Lego theme that created a fun welcoming environment.

Sponsor Casey Cowsert explained that last year, PHS ran for President and campaigned during the district events. After winning, they immediately began planning for this year’s activities. In April, they held a planning meeting at PHS with our fellow officer schools — Waynesville High School (1st Vice President), Waynesville Middle School (2nd Vice President), and St. James (Secretary). Together, they formed a committee to develop the main ideas and plans, while the entire council collaborated on creating the decorations.

Adeline Riegler serves as the PHS STUCO President and said, “Pacific High School Student Council had the incredible honor of serving as the President School and hosting the Missouri Association of Student Councils South Central District Convention. The event had over 650 students from 27 schools who came together to strengthen their student councils and become better leaders. This was the first time in Pacific High School history that we’ve hosted this event! I was fortunate enough to serve as Host and MC, alongside my vice president, McKenna Lay. Seeing so many students come together to grow as leaders and learn from each other was truly inspiring and I am very proud to be a part of it,”

Great job PHS STUCO! It was an amazing event!
