PHS Activity Spectator Guidelines

As the District prepares for 2020 Fall Sports and Activities, we want to inform our families and community of the Activity Spectator Guidelines.  The Four Rivers Conference as a whole have made the following guidelines and recommendations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic that all 8 schools will follow regarding athletics for the 2020 Fall Sports season.

Guidelines

  • Practices/Scrimmages/Jamborees are closed to general public.
  • Masks are required for all athletes and coaches or as determined by sport specific guidelines.
  • Spectators are asked to sit in family/household clusters and keep 6 feet distance from any other groups.
  • The wearing of masks by spectators is highly recommended at outdoor sports, especially in times when physical distancing of 6 feet is not possible. 
  • We ask for cooperation in maintaining social distancing of 6 feet.
  • Face coverings will be required by spectators indoors at MVRIII.
  • Students 8th grade and under will not be admitted without being accompanied by a parent.
  • Spectators are asked not to attend events if they have any of the following:
    • New or worsening cough
    • New or worsening sore throat 
    • New or worsening loss of taste and or smell 
    • Shortness of breath/trouble breathing 
    • Vomiting or diarrhea 
    • Fever greater than 100.4 degrees

Sport Specific Guidelines

Volleyball

  • Gym capacity will be limited to 50>
  • Visitor seating will be limited to 75 vouchers to be distributed to players prior to games by the visiting coach
  • Remainder of seating up to 50% capacity will be reserved for the home fans

Football/Boys Soccer 

  • Stadium capacity will be limited to 50%
  • Visitor seating will be limited to 250 vouchers to be distributed to players prior to games by the visiting coach
  • Remainder of seating up to 50% capacity will be reserved for the home fans

Middle School Girls Basketball

  • Gym capacity will be limited to 50%
  • Visitor seating will be limited to 50 vouchers to be distributed to players prior to games by the visiting coach
  • Remainder of seating up to 50% capacity will be reserved for the home fans

Softball/Cross Country/Girls Golf

  • It is recommended that spectators be limited to immediate family only
  • It is recommended that spectators bring lawn chairs to provide additional seating and allow for physical distancing

***Families of student-athletes as well as the student body will have first priority for available tickets.

***Any tickets not spoken for will be available to the public at the gate.

***Capacity of each venue is to be determined by each local school district and city fire codes.

***Vouchers reserve your ability to purchase a ticket to enter the event.

At any time these recommendations may change as needed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The schools of the Four Rivers Conference ask that you respect these guidelines and recommendations which we feel will provide our student athletes with the safest competition environment possible. Our goal is to protect the structure of our season and allow our athletes the best opportunity to reach the natural conclusion to the fall sports season.
