Quapaw has made it to Meramec Caverns!

Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are excited to announce that our school Field Day is happening this Friday! We are planning for a day filled with fun, movement, and school spirit. Please review the important reminders below to ensure your student is prepared for the festivities:
Event Details & Weather
Rain or Shine: We are planning to move forward with the event regardless of the weather. Please check the forecast and ensure your child is prepared for the conditions.
What to Wear: Students should wear athletic-capable clothing and sneakers. While there is no specific color shirt requirement this year, please ensure all attire is school-appropriate.
Sun Safety
Please apply sunscreen to your student in the morning before they arrive at school.
Feel free to send additional sunscreen in your student's bag if you would like them to re-apply during the day.
Lunch Reminders
If you are sending a packed lunch with your student, please note that microwaves will not be available to heat up food on Friday. Please plan for a "cold" lunch accordingly.
We are looking forward to a fantastic day of fun and games! Thank you for your continued support in making these events a success.

Congratulations to this week's PI difference makers! Lot of students were recognized this week!
PI Parents: Thank you for you help during MAP testing week, and we have all but 6 students finished with all of their testing!
Creativity is on full display in 6th-grade art. 🎨
Students recently completed these incredible handmade clay sponge holders, transforming simple slabs of clay into functional works of art. From the first sculpting session to the final glaze, each piece is now ready to move from the kiln to the kitchen counter.
We are so impressed by the creativity, craftsmanship, and unique personality that students brought to every project.

Congratulations to the difference makers this week at Pacific Intermediate!
We are proud to celebrate 5th grader Kurtis Scroggs from Pacific Intermediate, who has won the ECC Regional Spelling Bee for the second year in a row. 👏
He first won as a 4th grader at Zitzman Elementary, making this back-to-back victory even more impressive.
Congratulations, Kurtis, on this outstanding accomplishment! 🎉

Here is the last PI newsletter of the school year! https://app.smore.com/n/b1d70-pacific-intermediate?ref=email
In honor of Earth Day, students in Ms. McKinsey and Ms. Cayla’s classes learned about air, land, and water pollution, and how they can make a difference! 🌎
After their classroom discussions, students put their learning into action by teaming up to collect trash around the Pacific Intermediate fence and the Doris Hoffman Early Learning Center. 🧤
They were excited to help care for our environment and make our community a cleaner place!

Students in 6th grade science at Pacific Intermediate are bringing their learning to life by raising monarch butterflies in the classroom! As they explore human impact on the environment, students are observing monarch eggs and following each stage of the life cycle, from caterpillar, to chrysalis, to butterfly. 🦋
Monarchs are currently listed as endangered due to significant population declines caused by habitat loss, pesticide use, and climate change. Through this experience, students are making meaningful connections between their actions and the health of ecosystems. If enough butterflies successfully hatch, each class will have the opportunity to release one, becoming part of a real-world conservation effort! 💜
