MVR-III PLTW Distinguished Schools

The Meramec Valley R-III School District is celebrating a remarkable achievement as every school in the district has been named a 2024-25 Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Distinguished School. This recognition, awarded by the national PLTW organization, highlights the district's commitment to providing transformative learning experiences and empowering students with in-demand knowledge and skills for future careers.  The honor is bestowed upon a select group of schools across the United States that have demonstrated success in increasing student access, engagement, and achievement in PLTW programs.

The PLTW programs span across all grade levels in MVR-III.  At the elementary level, PLTW Launch engages students in critical and creative thinking through hands-on activities.  Pacific Intermediate and Riverbend Middle School students in the PLTW Gateway program explore a range of career paths and develop teamwork skills by tackling real-world challenges.  High school students can participate in PLTW programs focused on computer science, biomedical science, and engineering, allowing them to step into the roles of professionals and develop problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.

Schools had to meet several criteria to achieve the Distinguished School designation, including a high percentage of students participating in PLTW programs, offering multiple PLTW courses or modules, and ensuring access to PLTW courses for all students.  The Meramec Valley R-III School District joins a national community of PLTW schools, colleges and universities, and corporate and philanthropic partners dedicated to providing students with inspiring, engaging, and empowering learning opportunities.  This recognition celebrates the district's dedication to STEM education and its efforts to prepare students for future success.
