Riverbend Families,
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2021-2022 school year. My name is Todd Dempsey, and it is my honor to serve as your new Head Principal at Riverbend Middle School. I am so excited to once again be a part of the Meramec Valley R-3 School District. Prior to my experience as Vice Principal at St. Francis Borgia Regional High School from 2018-2021, I served as a teacher and coach at Pacific High School for 17 years. My family and I are thrilled to be returning to a school district and community that became such a huge part of our lives.
Our Riverbend team is working hard to prepare for the 2021-2022 school year. There are many projects taking place in the building ranging from a brand new HVAC system, to a new secure entrance to the school. Rest assured that our outstanding maintenance and custodial staff will have our school ready to welcome back our students this fall. Aside from the infrastructure upgrades, we are also looking forward to our new trimester schedule. As we continue to make plans for this transition, please know that we are available to answer any questions you may have.
As an educator, I have always placed great value in the relationships I have built with students and families. As Principal of Riverbend Middle School, one of my main goals will be to continue building those relationships at school and in the community. After a school year filled with uncertainty, I want to re-establish the connection between Riverbend Middle School and the community of Pacific. Partnering with you, we can ensure that all of our Riverbend students find success, and reach their full potential. I am confident that we will be a great team.
Please keep a lookout for more communication about the upcoming school year. I will be scheduling some opportunities to meet in person over the coming weeks. However, please feel free to come by Riverbend anytime throughout the summer to talk. I hope that you are enjoying this time with your families, and I am extremely excited to meet you all. I look forward to serving you and our students for many years to come.
