Students at Nike Elementary got the opportunity to meet active duty service member, Corporal Murray! Back in September of 2023, third grade teacher, Ms. Murray, and her class wrote letters to her brother as a service-learning activity. During that time, Corporal Murray was stationed at Camp Foster in Okinawa, Japan, serving in the United States Marine Corp as a Landing Support Specialist. It was quite the surprise to his family when he made a trip back home! Ms. Murray knew this would be a great time for her students to finally meet the man behind the pen. During his visit at school on January 24th, her students got to hear about Corporal Murray's journey in the Marine Corp over the last 2 - 3 years, since his graduation from Pacific High School in May of 2020. Time was made for some Q&A and pictures, too! Nike students and staff would like to thank Corporal Murray for visiting our school and for his service to our country!!
