Hello March Info Blast

It is hard to believe that we are already entering the month of March.  We hope that the weather will begin to cooperate and the Spring weather is here to stay!  With the arrival of Spring we will have more hours of sunshine and the temperatures are on the rise which allows students the opportunity to get outside and burn off that built up winter energy.  After spending many days inside for indoor recess and inside of homes due to the frigid temps and snow, students really need to take advantage of any warm weather days we get. It gives them a renewed spirit and an opportunity to become more focused.  I would ask for your support at home as well, by encouraging your kids to spend some time out in the fresh sunshine.

March is a very busy time here at school. We will be having parent teacher conferences! We hope that you take advantage of the opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher to discuss the progress that we have made throughout the year. We know that there is a direct correlation between parent involvement and student performance.  Students need to know their parents and teachers have a working relationship that is focused on learning. This sets the expectation for students that everyone wants to see them succeed in their educational career.

Our 3rd and 4th grade students will be taking the MAP test at the start of April. Dates are being determined and the schedule is being made for specific times. These assessments show us how our students have mastered the standards that they have been working on throughout the school year.  Our students have been preparing for this test and will continue to prepare through March.

It is imperative that our students are here on time every day to ensure that they are getting the best education possible. We have seen a significant increase in student tardiness and are aware of how the flu affected our building in February. Game On time now… no excuses, let’s work as a team and get our building back up to that 95% daily attendance goal.  Please talk to your students about the importance of school and make their attendance a priority. We have amazing staff that are dedicated to your student’s success and learning each and every day.
