Registration for the Meramec Valley R-III School District Summer Discovery program begins next Monday, March 3. Available to all incoming K-8 students, it includes hands-on STEM based games, activities, and free field trips. Summer Discovery is scheduled for Monday-Friday, June 2-27. Mrs. Fingers’ Coleman Elementary Preschoolers have been learning about animals & used their knowledge to complete tasks during center time. These learning activities included building shelters for their animals and taking care of them at the vet clinic! #MVNation #GrowingTogether
In celebration of Kindness Week, students and staff were challenged to collect boxes of cereal to be donated to local food pantries. Our school collected 270 boxes. These were donated to St. Vincent DePaul and the Agape House in Pacific. Congratulations Coleman Warriors!!

MVR-III Building Support Staff & Teacher of the Year recipients at Coleman Elementary & Riverbend Middle School were notified of their honor this week. Staff at each building nominate and vote for their peers when deciding this award. Well-deserved recognition for all of these outstanding employees!
Due to the forecast of ice and snow along with the timing of the winter storm, Meramec Valley R-III School District is canceling school for Wednesday, February 12.
This morning, we kicked off Kindness Week with an all school circle time. Students shared with each other what kindness means to them and when someone has been kind to them. Circle time is a very important time in the school day. It allows are students to feel heard, valued, increases engagement, and promotes a positive learning environment.
MVR-III provides Kindergarten screenings for students kindergarten-eligible in the 2025-26 school year. Screenings are hosted at Doris Hoffman Early Learning Center unless noted. Both daytime (8:45 AM - 3 PM) and evening (4:30 - 6:30 PM) slots are available. Daytime dates are March 3, March 24 (at Coleman), April 7 (at Nike), & April 28. Evening dates are March 27 & April 15. Last week, Kindergarten students celebrated the end of their CKLA Knowledge unit on Kings and Queens.
Students worked together to complete an escape room. Each team completed activities and earned letters. Once they had all the letters it spelled a word and that was the code to save the queen from the dragon.
Yesterday, was a great day to cuddle up with a good book. Students in Mrs. Canada's class had a little more fun reading with flashlights.
