Reminder!

Doing good deeds, without being prompted, when no one is watching, or no reward in return. That is what being a Difference Maker is all about.
Great work Bellamy, Lincoln, Robert, Ava, Bailey, Kailey, Izzy, and Sam.
These students were recommended for helping classmates, making new students feel welcome, and helping their teacher. Great job Warriors!

Kindergarten had a blast at Thierbach Farms yesterday. Students have been learning, describing, and explaining everything they know about apples. Yesterday was a great day to celebrate and learn first hand where apples grow.

Students in Ms. Smith's class made human base ten charts in math. The students laying/sitting down were the ones and those standing were the tens. Such a fun way to make math collaborative and get students up and moving during math.

Tomorrow is United Way Hat Day.
Students at Coleman may bring in $1, and wear a heat for the day.

So many Difference Makers this week. Congratulations Sebastian, Sam, Kinsly, Gaby, and Mazey. Helping others, demonstrating manners in the hallway, being a leader for classmates, and working to keep our school clean. These students are demonstrating what it truly means to be a Coleman Warrior!

Muffins with the Mayor
Earlier this week, 2nd graders had a special visit with the mayor of Pacific, Heather Filley. As part of their government and civics unit. Students were able to listen, ask questions, and learn what the job of mayor entails.

During ABC boot camp, Coleman Elementary kindergarten students learned the letter “F” stands for friendship. Students made friendship bracelets to celebrate. In Ms. Jones’ kindergarten class, learning and fun go hand in hand!

Yesterday was a great day for flashlight reading in Mrs. Canada's room. Students curled up in a comfortable spot and read.

2nd grade students completed their Fairytale and Tall Tales unit this week. To celebrate, students were encouraged to dress up in character. Everyone participated in various activities that included comparing and contrasting between fairytales and tall tales, writing, and a craft.

Today, Coleman Elementary welcomed local firefighters, paramedics, and police officers to join students at lunch and recess.
Patriot Day is a day of remembrance for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. In addition, it is an important day for our students to show appreciation and build relationships with first responders.

1st graders are holding the keys to being responsible citizens! Earlier this week, they learned about teamwork by building a puzzle made of pieces that the students decorated themselves! Great job 1st graders.

So many Difference Makers to be proud of this week. Theo helped a preschooler with his zipper. Lucy is a kindergarten rock star. Ryker helped another student in motor lab and demonstrated our 4 core values during counseling time. Scotti helped a classmate hang up his backpack and get to breakfast.
