There is always an opportunity to love and learn. 🐢

During a recent recess, Coleman Elementary students discovered a turtle and observed from a safe distance without touching. As they followed along, they connected the moment to perseverance, one of our core words!

When the turtle reached the fence and needed a little help, students worked together with school counselor Ms. Wengler-Gomes to gently create space for it to pass through and return to the tree line.

These small, unplanned moments of caring for living things, learning together, and working as a team leave a lasting impact. 💚

Coleman Elementary and Pacific High School DECA students collected 111 pounds of tab tops this school year to support the Ronald McDonald House. ❤️

When the tabs were delivered, the recycling center hosted a celebration to promote the Ronald McDonald House. Students and staff enjoyed balloon animals, face painting, yard games, food trucks, and more!

It was inspiring to see the impact of this ongoing effort that we were able to support.

Preschoolers in Mrs. Finger’s class at Coleman Elementary recently enjoyed a hands-on day of learning thanks to a gift card from the St. Louis Dairy Council. ❤️

Students explored a variety of dairy products by tasting strawberry yogurt, different types of cheese, and several flavors of milk, even dipping graham crackers into milk!

Afterward, they put their math skills to work by graphing their favorite cheeses and counting which ones they liked and did not like. The activity also encouraged students to use their five senses while learning where dairy products come from.

Students in Mrs. Canada’s 2nd grade class at Coleman Elementary are building collaboration skills while practicing a Kagan learning strategy called Think, Pair, Share. 🤝

They begin by working through answers independently, then partner up to compare their thinking. If their answers match, they move on, and if not, they work together to problem-solve and come to a shared understanding.

Students did a wonderful job demonstrating teamwork and thoughtful communication throughout the activity!

Coleman Elementary 3rd and 4th grade students had an exciting and uplifting day as they prepare for MAP testing!

4th graders visited Pacific Intermediate for their annual tour, where they met Ms. Letterly, their future counselor, and enjoyed a student-led presentation and tour from 6th graders. Students also gathered for an assembly featuring a staff-created video, a heartfelt message from Ms. Gish, and a fun MAP song and dance to build excitement!

Students proudly received their new MAP t-shirts, and the positive energy throughout the day reflected how supported, confident, and ready they are to do their best. 💜

At Coleman Elementary, Mrs. Peirick’s class had a fun and educational experience hatching Peeps! 🐣

Students not only explored science, but also practiced our school’s four core values: respect, responsibility, empathy, and perseverance.

Each student cared for an egg for a week. When it hatched, they received a birth certificate from the Easter Bunny and completed a baby book to document their new “chick!”

Thank you to all voters who participated in the April 7 election and took the time to consider Prop S.

On Tuesday, the unofficial results for Prop S, the proposed no tax rate change bond issue for the Meramec Valley R-III School District, showed 56.5% voter approval, falling short of the 57.14% required for passage by 22 votes.

This outcome means we will not be moving forward at this time with plans to construct a new middle school or address the identified facility needs across our schools, including important safety and security upgrades.

The Board of Education and administration remain committed to exploring options to address the district’s facility needs. We will continue engaging with community members and staff as we determine next steps and evaluate future solutions.

We appreciate your continued support of our students, staff, and schools.
