The Nike Pie in the Face competition is going well. Coach is very excited to be in first place! He loves to win! Nurse Jenny is feeling lonely, being in last place so far. The competition ends on Friday.

Happy April, Scouts! Today, students attended our monthly school assembly and learned about our new Pillar Word: Resilience. Being brave to try something hard and getting back up if we fall a little short are important life skills to have! We also had some wonderful successes to share. A few students from each grade were recognized as Positive Office Referrals, and our very own principal can now be introduced as Dr. Tollison! Students and staff would like to congratulate her on completing her necessary courses and tests in order to receive her Doctorate in Education Degree. We are so proud of you, Dr. Tollison!! 🎉

The Meramec Valley R-III School District is offering a 4-week summer learning program that includes hands-on STEM based games, activities, and free field trips for incoming K-8 students. Register your student using your Infinite Campus Parent Portal. If you do not have an Infinite Campus Parent Portal set up or are new to the district, please contact your school office for assistance. Summer Discovery is scheduled for Monday-Friday, June 3-28. There were lots of giggles this morning while students were choosing which staff members' bucket to put their change in. The Pie in the Face buckets will be out until April 5th. #mvnation

Wow! What a great turnout last night at El Agave!! PTO's Dine to Donate earned our school $260, which will go toward our End of Trimester celebrations. We would like to thank our Nike families for attending last night. It was so nice to see our students' smiling faces outside of school!!

Recently Nike Scouts shared why they are luck to be a Nike Scout. Many students wrote wonderful things about friends and staff. Nike is lucky to have amazing student, committed staff, and supportive families. #mvnation

Nike Scouts & Families~ PTO is sponsoring a FUNdraiser that will be sure to have our kiddos laughing! Students may bring in spare change before school to put in the container of the staff member they would like to see get Pied in the Face on Friday, April 5th at an afternoon school assembly. So, start digging around for any loose coins in the couch cushions or in the car cup holders! Nike has a great turnout for Kindergarten Round Up. These eager soon to be kindergarteners went on a scavenger hunt in the building, went on a school bus, checked out their classrooms, and met some Nike teachers. Thank you to all of the family that attended our Nike Round Up! #MVNation

The MVR-III Special Education Department holds an annual field day, and this year students at each building will have a superhero-themed shirt to represent their specific school. Nike has some amazing Scouts who had perfect attendance for February! We are very proud of them.

Students at Nike Elementary got a visit from a dairy cow this morning! We would like to thank the STL Dairy Council for funding this visit with Louise, who came all the way from The Southland Dairy Farmers Mobile Classroom. Nike is 1 of 48 schools receiving this fun visit over the next few months. We enjoyed our time with Louise, but she must be MOO-ving on! 🐄

In March, we would like to recognize Youth Art Month and Music In Our Schools Month! Nike Elementary is very fortunate to have 2 amazing teachers in these areas. A big THANK YOU goes out to Mrs. Patterson and Mrs. Fenelon for sharing their passion and expertise with our students! With their guidance, our Scouts get to explore and express their creative sides!! #MVNation
