Nike Elementary School

Second graders are reviewing nouns. Students were able to list a person, place, and things independently. They started discussing proper nouns. Ask your second grader for an example of a common noun and proper noun. #mvnation

Kindergarteners are learning about sharing and listening. They are sharing their favorite things and then students are drawing portraits of each other. #mvnation

Third graders are creating their self portrait in Art. Ask your third grader about their portrait. #mvnation

On Friday we held our beginning of the month assembly. We discussed September's pillar word, Citizenship. We also recognized students who are showing great citizenship at Nike. We are so proud of our Nike Scouts! #mvnation

First graders practice many great skills during center time. Ask your first grader what they learned this week! #mvnation

If you see a Nike 3rd grader, ask them what an adjective is! Ms. Murray's class did an identifying adjective activity in their classroom. Can you find the adjectives in this sentences below? The cute baby smiled at me. She wore her warm coat to school. The popcorn was hot and salty. #mvnation

Thank you FCNB Bank for surprising Mrs. Burt this morning with a basket full of Amazing Wish List items. Mrs. Burt was nominated anonymously and won the FCNB Teacher giveaway. Mrs. Burt and her students were very excited to see all of the wonderful games and supplies that were donated to their classroom. #mvnation

Every student at NE/RE summer school painted a "Kindness Rock" yesterday. All of the rocks were arranged around the flower bed in front of Nike. Great memories were made during Summer School this year!

Class meetings are a great way to build a positive classroom environment. All students are given the chance to have their voices heard. They also help when students do fun activities like painting rocks with kind words on them.
