Today we’re excited to shine the spotlight on one of our outstanding English Language Arts teachers, Mrs. Tomnitz-Sucher.
In ELA, students do so much more than read and write — they learn to think critically, express themselves confidently, and discover the power of their own voice. Through engaging novels, meaningful discussions, and creative writing opportunities, Mrs. Tomnitz-Sucher helps students see that their words matter.
Whether it’s guiding students through a challenging text, encouraging reluctant readers, or celebrating a beautifully written essay, she creates a classroom where every student feels supported and inspired. Her passion for literacy and her dedication to helping students grow — both academically and personally — make a lasting impact each and every day.
Thank you for the energy, heart, and enthusiasm you bring to Riverbend. Our students are better readers, writers, and thinkers because of you!✏️📖

Students presented their ""Miles That Matter"" project and engaged with committee members to share their ideas and vision! 👏

On Tuesday, the unofficial results for Prop S, the proposed no tax rate change bond issue for the Meramec Valley R-III School District, showed 56.5% voter approval, falling short of the 57.14% required for passage by 22 votes.
This outcome means we will not be moving forward at this time with plans to construct a new middle school or address the identified facility needs across our schools, including important safety and security upgrades.
The Board of Education and administration remain committed to exploring options to address the district’s facility needs. We will continue engaging with community members and staff as we determine next steps and evaluate future solutions.
We appreciate your continued support of our students, staff, and schools.
