Riverbend Middle School students in Mrs. Moser's Journalism class collaborated with those from Ms. Miles' Digital Media class to publish the Riverbend Times school newspaper. Journalism students wrote the articles, while Digital Media students took or collected photos. #MVNation
December 2, 2023 Riverbend Middle School will be hosting their 6th Annual Craft & Vendor Show. All proceeds from this event go towards Student Activities. These events include Pillars of Character Awards, Breakfast of Champions, and many more. This year we are also hoping to raise enough funds to purchase yard signs for our incoming Riverbend Students! There are two ways you can help us make sure this event is successful.
First, we are looking for volunteers to help us run the concession area. This will include the sale of both breakfast and lunch items, as well as snacks and drinks. Use this link to sign up. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0948AFA829A7FA7-46241817-craft#/
Second, if you are unable to volunteer, we are also looking for donations of items to sell in our concession area. If you are able to donate any items, we would greatly appreciate it! Use this link to sign up to donate! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0948AFA829A7FA7-45607299-craft#/
We appreciate you!

Students in Ms. Miles' digital media class finished off their trimester by creating projects that reflected the learning taking place at Riverbend. Students took and edited photos and then created poster prints that were presented to the staff. Although we wish we could display them all, the final four projects are shown. Jaden Gann and Jackson Sitton with weight training, Lincoln Erickson with Art, Dylan Bischof with History and not pictured Christian Abelllenada with Journalism.

The Advanced 8th Grade Studio Art Class at RMS created ceiling tiles for teacher classrooms. This community service project helps to beautify our building and give back to our school. They did an amazing job!

The Meramec Valley School District focuses on 8 character pillars throughout the year: Citizenship, Collaboration, Communication, Creativity, Critical Thinking, Respectfulness, Responsibility, and Resilience. Respect is the pillar of Character that we focus on in the first trimester at Riverbend. Every staff member was tasked with nominating one student that showed these qualities on a consistent basis. Yesterday, we celebrated the 45 students who were nominated by a staff member. Congratulations to every student who was nominated.
This morning Riverbend Middle School honored Veteran's from the community. Our band and choir did an amazing job with their musical selections. We thank you for your service.

Arnold’s Grill and Smoke came to visit Riverbend’s FACS class today! Students learned how food trucks worked and enjoyed yummy pork sliders, mac and cheese and a caramel peach apple cobbler! We appreciate them coming to share their knowledge with us!

Thank you to all who have already donated to our Thanksgiving food drive. We are still in need of green beans, mashed potatoes, gravy, and cranberry sauce.

Riverbend students concluded Red Ribbon Week with a presentation by our own Mrs. Tomnitz-Sucher. Though difficult, she shared her family history and grief of losing her brother due to choices involving alcohol and drugs. The serious nature of the topic and our personal connection to Mrs T, effected staff and students. Please talk with your child and see how they are feeling. We are available to supply any resources you may need.
