The Meramec Valley School District focuses on 8 character pillars throughout the year: Citizenship, Collaboration, Communication, Creativity, Critical Thinking, Respectfulness, Responsibility, and Resilience. Respect is the pillar of Character that we focus on in the first trimester at Riverbend. Every staff member was tasked with nominating one student that showed these qualities on a consistent basis. Yesterday, we celebrated the 45 students who were nominated by a staff member. Congratulations to every student who was nominated.
Friday Staff Spotlight: Nurse Hendricks
This morning Riverbend Middle School honored Veteran's from the community. Our band and choir did an amazing job with their musical selections. We thank you for your service.
Thank you to all who have already donated to our Thanksgiving food drive. We are still in need of green beans, mashed potatoes, gravy, and cranberry sauce.
Arnold’s Grill and Smoke came to visit Riverbend’s FACS class today! Students learned how food trucks worked and enjoyed yummy pork sliders, mac and cheese and a caramel peach apple cobbler! We appreciate them coming to share their knowledge with us!

We would like to invite you to our Veteran’s Day Assembly. Please invite a veteran or any active member of the United States Military to our Veteran’s Day Assembly. Students in Mr. Mulligan's Exploring Community Service Class had the opportunity to visit Zitzman Elementary School today. The Riverbend students helped in the first-grade classrooms. The first graders appreciated the visit.

Riverbend students concluded Red Ribbon Week with a presentation by our own Mrs. Tomnitz-Sucher. Though difficult, she shared her family history and grief of losing her brother due to choices involving alcohol and drugs. The serious nature of the topic and our personal connection to Mrs T, effected staff and students. Please talk with your child and see how they are feeling. We are available to supply any resources you may need.
Friday Staff Spotlight: Ms. Jones
We have the results from the Lions Club Peace Poster Contest. We had a wonderful turn out this year. Thank you to everyone that participated. We had some amazing artwork for our community. It was a tough choice but the votes are in.

Riverbend Middle School students are celebrating Red Ribbon Week this week. Today we wear neon or tye die to show that we are "Too BRIGHT for Drugs."
Today, we welcome back Coach Missey. As many of you know she has been battling Stage 2B Breast Cancer since her diagnosis on April 14th. She has completed 6 rounds of chemo, underwent surgery, and she will continue to undergo several weeks of treatment and finish off with 12 weeks of maintenance injections.
To remind her that NO-ONE fights alone and that WE stand with her… the 7th & 8th Grade Girls Basketball Teams, as well as RMS cheerleaders invite you to join us tonight for the Pink Out Game. 7th Grade plays at 5:30 pm and 8th Grade will follow.
Let's come together as a community and show our love and support for Coach Missey and her family.
