Students and staff at Nike Elementary enjoyed the beautiful weather today! The sunshine was much needed, and many classes even earned extra lunch recess to take full advantage of the fresh air. It’s always so nice to get outside, soak up some sunshine, and burn off that extra energy! ☀️
During Math Time, PreK students in Ms. Katrina’s and Ms. Natalie’s class had fun exploring data in a hands-on way! 🐶🐟
They discussed which animal they would rather have as a pet — a dog or a fish — and then created a bar graph to show their choices. Once the graph was complete, students practiced counting to see which animal was the overall class favorite. It was a great way to combine math, discussion, and counting skills all in one activity!
✨ We currently have preschool openings at Nike Elementary! You can register for this school year or next school year now by calling Doris Hoffman at 636-271-1464. When you call, please let them know you’re interested in the Nike location.
Our small class size allow for lots of one-on-one attention. We can’t wait to have your little one join us! 💙

Ms. Suchland’s kindergarten class starts each morning with a Days of the Week or Months of the Year song to help build important calendar skills. Last week, they mixed it up and tried a fun new Months of the Year line dance by Jack Hartmann!
Students were up, moving, dancing, and singing along—having a blast while learning this important information. We love seeing our kindergarteners so engaged and excited about learning.
Way to go, kindergarten! 🎶🗓️

We hope you enjoyed your three-day weekend—we sure did!
This long weekend was in honor of Presidents Day, a time to recognize and celebrate the leaders who have served our country. Presidents Day originally began as a way to honor George Washington’s birthday and now celebrates all U.S. presidents. It’s a great opportunity to reflect on leadership, citizenship, and the important role history plays in shaping our nation.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow, Tuesday, January 17. It will be an A Day, so students will have Art & Library.
See you tomorrow! 🎨📚

Ms. Willmenos’ 4th grade class worked together to create Valentine gingerbread houses, and they turned out fantastic! Great teamwork and creativity! Way to go, 4th grade! 💕✨

This week, Nike Elementary proudly celebrated Kindness Week! 💙🧡💜💚❤️
Kindness Week is such an important part of elementary school because it helps students learn that small, thoughtful actions can make a big difference. At this age, children are building friendships, learning how to work together, and developing empathy. Taking time to intentionally focus on kindness encourages students to use kind words, include others, help when someone is struggling, and show respect to everyone around them. These lessons help create a positive school culture where all students feel safe, valued, and supported.
We had so much fun celebrating with our daily color themes!
💙 Monday – Blue
🧡 Tuesday – Orange
💜 Wednesday – Purple
💚 Thursday – Green
❤️ Friday – Red/Pink (as we also celebrate Valentine’s Day!)
It was wonderful to see so many students and staff participating each day. Your school spirit and enthusiasm helped make this week extra special!
Kindness doesn’t stop when the school day ends. Have you noticed something at home your student is doing to show kindness? Maybe they helped a sibling, used encouraging words, or went out of their way to make someone smile. We would love to hear about it!
Please share those stories in the comments section. Let’s continue spreading kindness together—at school, at home, and in our community!
