Post 2of 2: Nike Elementary has been celebrating Missouri Day for over 20 years. This is a special day recognized in October to learn about our state's history. Students and staff did just that by participating in hands-on activities that pertain specifically to the Show-Me State! On Friday, October 10th, Nike Scouts got to rotate through several different displays and presentations that were set up throughout their school. Stations included: Beekeeping, Candle Making, quilt making, and Square Dancing. Students also learned about fire safety from the Pacific Fire Department and heard a presentation on native animals from a representative of Robertsville State Park. Students also constructed the Gateway Arch out of aluminum foil and learned how to write using ink make with walnuts. Of course, the day couldn't have ended without some kettle corn and a variety of apples for a snack! #mnvation
