Second grade has been studying fish over the past month. Today they had a freshwater fish expert from a local business visit to teach them about fish anatomy, habitats, and so much more! They played games, read books, had an engaging discussion, and a Q and A session. What an exciting and fun day of experiential learning!

Nike Scouts love good weather days! It gives us a chance to get outside, burn off some energy, and have fun with friends!
Second graders recently put their critical thinking skills to the test while working to solve the case of the missing principal! Throughout the activity, students practiced important reading strategies such as inferring, making predictions, drawing conclusions, and using text evidence to support their thinking.
Working collaboratively in groups, students carefully examined clues and read through each suspect’s interview. They discussed their ideas, backed up their reasoning with evidence from the text, and worked together to crack the case.
It was a fun and engaging way to strengthen comprehension skills while encouraging teamwork and problem-solving—great job, second graders!

3rd grade worked so incredibly hard to master their multiplication facts! Starting in February, students took a timed test multiple times a week on their multiples. It was their job to track the progress and for every test passed, they recieved a sticker for their tracker which earned an additional thing for their bowl of ice cream. Our multiplication extravaganza was a celebration of months of hard work!
2nd grade recently wrapped up their Economics unit! Students created their own products and storefronts, then invited 1st grade students to shop as the consumers. It was a fun, hands-on way to learn about goods, services, spending, and earning while practicing real-world skills!

Ms. Chasen’s and Ms. Suchland’s classes have been counting down the last 26 days of school by celebrating with the alphabet! “L” was for luau, and everyone had a great time celebrating together!
Recently, Nike students gathered for their beginning-of-the-month assembly for May! During the assembly, students learned about the word of the month: perseverance. Perseverance means continuing to work hard and not giving up, even when something is difficult.
Our student helpers did a wonderful job putting on a fun skit to help explain what perseverance looks like. Students in the audience got to participate by giving a thumbs up or thumbs down depending on whether the skit showed good perseverance choices.
We also took time to recognize students who have been showing great character, along with classes that stood out for having the cleanest classrooms, best hallway manners, best assembly manners, and best attendance during the month of April.
Way to go, Nike Scouts! We are so proud of you and the positive choices you make every day! 💜
