The MVR-III Special Education Department holds an annual field day, and this year students at each building will have a superhero-themed shirt to represent their specific school. Nike has some amazing Scouts who had perfect attendance for February! We are very proud of them.
Students at Nike Elementary got a visit from a dairy cow this morning! We would like to thank the STL Dairy Council for funding this visit with Louise, who came all the way from The Southland Dairy Farmers Mobile Classroom.
Nike is 1 of 48 schools receiving this fun visit over the next few months. We enjoyed our time with Louise, but she must be MOO-ving on! 🐄
In March, we would like to recognize Youth Art Month and Music In Our Schools Month! Nike Elementary is very fortunate to have 2 amazing teachers in these areas. A big THANK YOU goes out to Mrs. Patterson and Mrs. Fenelon for sharing their passion and expertise with our students! With their guidance, our Scouts get to explore and express their creative sides!!

A huge thank you to Nike PTO for organizing dinner for Nike staff on PT conference night. PTO ordered Subway and our Nike parents signed up to bring in desserts, sides, and drinks. Nike staff is very appreciative of our caring community! #mvnation
Two Kindergarten items for MVR-III families: KDG Registration is Now Open, & KDG Roundup is set for Wednesday, March 13. Families with other students currently attending MVR-III will register new kindergarteners through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Haven’t set up your Parent Portal? No Problem! Just call your building office for next steps. Families new to the district should begin registration by contacting the office of their assigned school, and staff will provide a link via email to complete the process. Students in first grade at Nike Elementary are raising money to help their school get its very own Lending Library. They held their first fundraiser on Feb. 15, allowing anyone in the building to pay $1 to wear pajamas to school that day. Nike Scouts raised $118 from their Dollar Pajama Day! This money will go towards the purchase of materials for the Lending Library. Two additional Dollar Fundraiser Days will occur in the coming weeks, one being a Hat Day and the other a Bring-A-Stuffed-Animal-to-School Day. Along with these school-wide fundraisers, first grade students are completing tasks at home to earn money to donate towards this project as well. We are so proud of our First Grade Scouts for organizing and implementing a plan to better their school and surrounding community! #MVNation
"Starbooks" was open for business today in first grade, as they got ready for their March Madness: Picture Book Edition! Students spent the day sampling the books that will be read and voted on in the coming weeks. They started the morning by creating their own lattes and then ended the day with juice and cookies, served by "Bookista" Pogue and "Bookista" Turnbough! Starbucks even donated cups for this fun activity.. what a treat!

Nike Scouts celebrated their hard work and effort by attending some field trips yesterday. PreK & Kindergarten had some jumping fun at Planet Gymnastics, while 1st Grade through 4th Grade got to bowl at Oasis Lanes!
