Students and staff attended Nike Elementary's School-Wide May Assembly yesterday afternoon. During this time, Dr. Tollison reviewed with our Scouts the 4 main Core Values at our school:

It may have been delayed by weather for a week, but there was no stopping our MVR-III staff and students from participating in and celebrating the 7th Annual Special Education Field Day today. Established for special needs students across the district, the 2024 edition was coordinated by co-chairs Stacy Kloeppel, Cathy Bearden, Erin Tesar, and Jordan Garlik. Participants are matched with PHS student buddies, and they are free to experience stations on the stadium field for gross motor skills, sports, sensory areas, face painting, and much more. Nike second through fourth grade students and staff were very fortunate to have a Math Specialist from South Central RPDC teach math yesterday. Ms. Donna also meet with teachers during their plan time to discuss fluency and number talks.
It was a very fun day! We are very lucky that staff and students could learn from Mrs. Donna, a mathematics specialist through RPDC.
Today 2nd-4th graders are practicing their volleball skills. Ask your child what they have been practicing in PE.

Fourth grade students from across the district competed in the MVR-III Spelling Bee last week. Hosted at the PHS auditorium, competitors representing each building battled through several rounds to determine the champion. Congratulations to our top three finishers: 1st - Gunnar Swebilius (Nike), 2nd - Kyson Whisenhunt (Robertsville), & 3rd - Travis Helms (Coleman)!
We had a great turnout this morning at our Book Fair Breakfast! Tomorrow we will host another breakfast for students/families with last names (M - Z). The breakfast will run from 8 - 9 AM.
