Nike Elementary was recently highlighted in the Character.org National School of Character Spotlight:
Receiving the National School of Character designation for the first time, this school proudly upholds collaboration, critical thinking, respect, and perseverance. This photo shares a moment during School Family time where the touchstone is practiced and lived out. Students of all grade levels meet in one classroom and participate in "getting to know you" activities. Throughout the year, students see each other and make connections with others, not just their classmates. Congratulations Nike Elementary!

Over 230 grandparents attended Nike's Grandparent Event on Thursday afternoon! Families enjoyed snacks and activities in the gym, and they were also able to snap a picture at a photobooth. Students were then able to show off their classroom and play games, read books, or make crafts with their grandparents. Thank you to all of the grandparents who attended. There were lots of smiles, laughs, and hugs on Thursday afternoon at Nike.

Thank you to the Nike Sunshine Committee for organizing a treat for staff. Staff were treated to a fountain drink from BP by Dr. Tollison. Sometimes it just takes a small token of appreciation to make Wednesday brighter.

Patriots' Day was quite the success at Nike Elementary today! Fourth grade students led a school-wide ceremony where the Pledge of Allegiance and the Scout Pledge was recited by all in attendance. Students listened to members of the Pacific Fire District, the Meramec Ambulance District, Washington Police Department, and the Franklin County Sheriff's Department. The first responders shared some of their special equipment and some interesting things about their careers. Some students were even given the opportunity to try on some of the gear!
