Our Nike Elementary Preschool students had so much fun participating in a directed drawing to create Mat Man! During this activity, our friends practiced listening carefully and following their teacher’s directions step by step. Directed drawings are a wonderful way to strengthen fine motor skills while also building confidence and creativity.

Lunchtime is always a fun and positive part of the day at Nike Elementary! Our amazing cooks, Ms. Bri and Ms. Heather, prepare delicious meals that our students truly enjoy. Whether students bring lunch from home or enjoy a school meal, lunchtime is a great opportunity to catch up with friends, recharge, and refuel their brains for a strong afternoon of learning.

🌟 5 half-days: 8:15am-11:15am, available only at Doris Hoffman Early Learning Center
🌟 3 full days: 8:15am-4:00pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, available only at Doris Hoffman Early Learning Center
🌟 2 full days: 8:15am-4:00pm on Tuesday and Thursday, available only at Doris Hoffman Early Learning Center
Part-time tuition options depend on classroom availability and staffing considerations. Tuition is calculated based on the selected schedule and is not adjusted for absences.

Mrs. Pogue’s first grade class has been diving into the exciting world of astronomy! 🌎✨ Students have been learning all about planets, stars, and the sun, and they’ve been documenting their discoveries in their very own learning journals.
To wrap up the unit, students created their own unique planets using coffee filters—how fun and creative! They were incredibly excited and truly enjoyed exploring this unit. Way to go, first grade scientists! 🚀💫

Reminder — tomorrow is a D Day, so students will have Music and PE. 🎶🏃♂️
Also, this time of year the weather can be tricky! Please be sure to check the forecast each morning and send your student with proper outerwear so they can fully enjoy time outside. Tomorrow’s forecast is in the 50s, but the morning will be much chillier. Long sleeves, coats, hats, and gloves are recommended.

This past week, Nike staff was treated to a special morning pick-me-up! ☕ Staff members enjoyed choosing a delicious drink from Little Ireland, and Dr. Schwierjohn personally delivered them around the building.
The yummy drinks were such a fun treat and definitely brought some extra smiles to our day. Thank you, Little Ireland and Dr. Schwierjohn, for taking such great care of our team! 💜

They got to jump, laugh, and play in two awesome bounce houses! 💪 A huge THANK YOU to Nike families for supporting our fall fundraiser—your generosity makes celebrations like this possible! 🙌✨

Students and staff at Nike Elementary enjoyed the beautiful weather today! The sunshine was much needed, and many classes even earned extra lunch recess to take full advantage of the fresh air. It’s always so nice to get outside, soak up some sunshine, and burn off that extra energy! ☀️
During Math Time, PreK students in Ms. Katrina’s and Ms. Natalie’s class had fun exploring data in a hands-on way! 🐶🐟
They discussed which animal they would rather have as a pet — a dog or a fish — and then created a bar graph to show their choices. Once the graph was complete, students practiced counting to see which animal was the overall class favorite. It was a great way to combine math, discussion, and counting skills all in one activity!

Ms. Suchland’s kindergarten class starts each morning with a Days of the Week or Months of the Year song to help build important calendar skills. Last week, they mixed it up and tried a fun new Months of the Year line dance by Jack Hartmann!
Students were up, moving, dancing, and singing along—having a blast while learning this important information. We love seeing our kindergarteners so engaged and excited about learning.

This long weekend was in honor of Presidents Day, a time to recognize and celebrate the leaders who have served our country. Presidents Day originally began as a way to honor George Washington’s birthday and now celebrates all U.S. presidents. It’s a great opportunity to reflect on leadership, citizenship, and the important role history plays in shaping our nation.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow, Tuesday, January 17. It will be an A Day, so students will have Art & Library.
