Long-Range Master Plan

Dear Parents and Community Members,

We hope this message finds you well. We are writing to inform you about an important step in our district's planning process that directly impacts our schools and, most importantly, innovative opportunities for our students' education.

As part of our ongoing efforts to ensure high-quality academic opportunities and a supportive environment for our students, the MVR-III School District is currently in Step 4 of our Long-Range Planning Process. This step involves considering potential changes such as permanent closures, consolidations, or reorganizations of schools within the district.

The Board of Education is committed to several key objectives in this process:

  1. Providing excellent academic opportunities for our students in a supportive educational environment.

  2. Maintaining and improving program options for our students.

  3. Addressing demographic shifts and financial constraints effectively.

There are several reasons the Board may consider such changes, including:

  1. Efficiency: If school enrollment declines or if there's unused space in schools nearby, we aim to use our resources more effectively.

  2. Physical Condition: If a school building's condition makes it costly, unsafe, or impractical to continue operations.

  3. Alternative Use: Exploring other educational uses for school facilities, supporting services, or expanding existing schools.

  4. Educational Focus: Adapting to evolving educational needs, like implementing new curricula or programs to better serve our students.

The district has held stakeholder meetings to gain input on the process. However, before any decisions are made regarding facility changes, a public hearing is scheduled for Thursday, January 18th, in the Pacific High School Auditorium, immediately following the Board of Education Special Workshop which begins at 6 p.m.

We truly value your ongoing support as our district endeavors to create an innovative learning environment for our students throughout the Long-Range Planning Process.
