Zitzman Elementary will start the 2024-25 school year with a new assistant principal. Mrs. Christine Pruett, the Meramec Valley R-III District Curriculum and Instructional Coach, was approved during the April Board of Education meeting to fill the new role. The Zitzman assistant principal position will also support the District’s K-4 Summer Discovery Program.

Mrs. Pruett has worked in the Meramec Valley School District since 2017, serving as a 5th grade teacher at Coleman Elementary and Summer Discovery principal substitute before moving into her current role of coaching teachers and supporting curriculum development for the last 5 years. She previously taught 11 years as an elementary teacher for Ozark R-VI Schools. Mrs. Pruett is a graduate of Missouri State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and master’s degree in reading. Most recently, she earned an Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) in K-12 Leadership from Northwest Missouri State University.

Dr. Jenna Sladek, who will begin to serve as Zitzman principal in the 24-25 school year, said, “Mrs. Pruett is going to bring creativity and dedication to the new role. She will be a great teammate and a passionate leader for our students, families, and staff. I am excited for the adventure ahead together leading Zitzman Elementary.”
