The MVR-III School District is happy to share an update regarding the 2025 tax rate. At its August 20, 2025 meeting, the Board of Education conducted a hearing then approved the new 2025 tax rate, which was lowered by $0.1043 over the previous year’s tax rate.
What's Changing?
This year is a reassessment year, which happens every odd year. The overall value of property in our district increased by 10.24%. When property values or the overall Consumer Price Index (CPI) go up, the school district lowers the tax rate to either 5% or CPI, whichever is lower, according to the Hancock Amendment.
The district's operating tax levy was adjusted and lowered from last year’s rate of $3.8662 to $3.7619 per $100 of assessed property value.
The district's debt service levy is being voluntarily rolled back by .0899 cents, bringing it to .9500 cents.
