Madelyn Rush and Kaylee Templeton represented PHS on the girls' side of the bracket. After dropping her opening match, Rush battled back with an impressive pin in the wrestleback round to keep her tournament alive. She ultimately concluded her season in the second round.
Templeton’s season came to a heartbreaking end following a knee injury in the first round, but her journey to State remains a massive achievement.
The boys' team continued its strong tradition with another memorable showing at state. Brock Webb earned second place, finishing as state runner-up and becoming the 21st state finalist in program history. Lucas Tennyson captured fifth place to earn a state medal.
As a team, the Indians recorded a 15-4 dual record this season, claimed their second straight conference title, and finished second at districts. PHS placed in the top 15 in Class 3 at state and celebrated two state medalists, including one finalist.
This year’s senior class leaves behind a legacy that will forever remain as one of the top graduating classes in program history.
During their careers, the program earned:
Two conference team titles
Six individual conference champs
10 state tournament appearances
Four individual district titles
PHS wrestling continues to demonstrate what it means to compete at the highest level while representing the district with pride.
