Meramec Valley R-III Board of Education Vice President Dianna Meyer has earned the Master Board Member Certification through the Missouri School Boards’ Association (MSBA), the highest level of certification offered through the organization’s board training program.
Ongoing professional development is an important part of effective school board leadership. MSBA’s certification program helps board members strengthen their knowledge of school governance, educational leadership, and community engagement so they can better serve students, families, staff, and community members.
The Master Board Member Certification represents the level of professional development beyond MSBA’s Advanced Certification. To earn the distinction, board members must complete a significant number of training hours and activities focused on leadership and governance.
Requirements include:
At least 2 years of school board experience
Advanced Certification
Completed current-year MSBA Refresher Training
At least 80% attendance at district board meetings within the last year
Attendance at eight MSBA, COSSBA, or NSBA events, in addition to those recorded for Advanced Certification, including at least three within the past year.
Read one book from the MSBA Booklist for Reading Requirement, or write a response to 3 questions about relationships with stakeholders
Choose six out of nine activities in the last two years
Meyer’s accomplishment reflects not only her ongoing commitment to serving the MVR-III School District but also the district’s dedication to strong leadership and continued professional growth among its elected board members.
