The Meramec Valley R-III School District has named Jordan Garlik, special education teacher at Pacific High School, as its 2026 Teacher of the Year.
The Teacher of the Year program recognizes educators who demonstrate excellence in teaching, leadership, and commitment to student success. The district’s selection process begins with each school building nominating a building Teacher of the Year. Building winners are selected through staff nominations and then considered for the districtwide honor.
Garlik has served the district for 10 years, teaching in multiple buildings and across a range of grade levels. She is recognized for her positive and inclusive attitude that creates an environment where students and staff feel safe and welcomed.
Colleagues describe Garlik as a collaborative educator who works closely with staff to ensure each student’s individual needs are met. Her focus on strong relationships, clear communication, and shared expectations contributes to a supportive school climate.
Garlik holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and special education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Missouri Baptist University, and an educational specialist degree in educational leadership from Northwest Missouri State University.
As the MVR-III School District Teacher of the Year, Garlik will advance as a candidate for the Missouri Regional Teacher of the Year program.
