As superintendents of the Four Rivers Conference, we are asking our families, staff, businesses, community organizations, and residents to stand with our schools and advocate for full state funding for public education.

At the September State Board of Education meeting, the Board chose not to request full funding for public schools. Without restored funding from the Missouri Legislature and Governor, Four Rivers Conference districts could face significant financial losses that could affect staffing, programs, student services, and educational opportunities.

Our districts work hard to manage budgets responsibly, but fund balances cannot replace ongoing state revenue. Continued funding reductions will force difficult decisions that directly affect students and families.

Now, our schools need that same community support. The Meramec Valley R-III school district has a potential shortfall of over $1.1 million dollars based on state underfunding.

We encourage you to contact your Missouri legislators and urge them to fully fund public education. If you have questions about how state funding decisions may affect your district, please contact your local superintendent.

Thank you for standing with our schools, supporting our students, and strengthening the communities we call home.

Sincerely,

Dr. Geoff Neill - Gasconade Co. R-1

Mrs. Melissa Husereau - St. Clair R-13

Dr. Staci Johnson - Gasconade Co. R-2

Mr. Tim Webster - St. James R-1

Dr. Carrie Schwierjohn - Meramec Valley R-3

Dr. Matt Peregoy - Sullivan

Dr. Josh Hoener - New Haven

Dr. Dan Kania - Union R-11
