At the regular scheduled March 17, 2021 School Board Meeting, Dr. Carrie Schwierjohn was named Interim Superintendent for the 2021-2022 school year to replace Dr. Jonathan Mulford.  Matt Trower, Board of Education President, said, "The Board of Education is proud of the work Dr. Schwierjohn has done for Meramec Valley over the past three years. We have full confidence in her abilities to lead the district, inspire change, and continue with current projects. We're excited to see her grow." Dr. Schwierjohn is completing her 21st year in education, serving the past three years as the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction in the Meramec Valley R-III School District.  Dr. Schwierjohn began her teaching career as a fourth-grade teacher on Whiteman Airforce Base in the Knob Nobster School District, before returning home to St. Louis as a kindergarten through fifth grade teacher in the Ferguson-Florissant School District.  Dr. Schwierjohn joined the administrative ranks as a Dean of Students at Confluence Academy, then as an elementary principal in the Warren County School District. Prior to joining Meramec Valley, Dr. Schwierjohn served as a Director of Assessment in the Wentzville School District. Throughout Dr. Schwierjohn's career she has focused on meeting the needs of all learners, while promoting high expectations and innovative practices to help each student find success. Dr. Schwierjohn is also an adjunct professor at William Woods University supporting Doctor of Education candidates with their research studies. 

 Dr. Schwierjohn has a bachelor's degree in early childhood and elementary education and a master's degree in educational administration from the University of Central Missouri, Warrensburg and earned her doctorate in educational leadership from Lindenwood University. 

 When asked about taking on the role as Interim Superintendent, Schwierjohn said, “I am honored to lead the district through this transition and will work alongside our board of education, administration, and our outstanding staff to continue the important work and progress that Dr. Mulford has led during the past three years as our superintendent. I wish Dr. Mulford the very best, and I am confident that our dedicated MVR-III staff and community will continue forward with our common mission of working together to make a difference in doing what's best for kids!”
