Wednesday, January 13, 2021

Riverbend Middle School Principal Andrew Arbeitman will retire at the end of the school year after a 25-year career in education.  His last day will be June 30, 2021.

Dr. Arbeitman has served as principal of Riverbend Middle School since July 2018.  He spent most of his time in administrative positions while in education. The longtime educator is known for mentoring students to find individual success and for his love of basketball.  Dr. Arbeitman looks forward to spending time with his family and would love to teach at the collegiate level. Dr. Arbeitman stated, “The role of an administrator has been a blessing.  I am thankful for being able to serve many students and staff over the years.”

School officials are completing their search for a new principal for the 2021-22 school year and expect to release the candidate’s name after the January 20th Board of Education meeting.

The Meramec Valley R-III Superintendent John Mulford said, “We are appreciative of Dr. Arbeitman’s service to MVR-III over the past three years. He oversaw the transition of Riverbend from an 8th grade center to a combined 7th & 8th grade middle school. In addition, he’s led the building during this COVID-19 pandemic as we quickly transitioned to remote teaching and learning options. Dr. Arbeitman has consistently demonstrated his passion for kids by doing whatever it takes to help them succeed. We certainly wish him the best in his retirement and his future endeavors.”
