At Coleman Elementary, small group counseling sessions are using brick-based activities with LEGO materials to support emotional awareness and regulation. ๐Ÿ’œ

In this lesson, students designed structures to represent an emotion of their choice and shared how their creations reflected those feelings. The activity encouraged thoughtful conversations about emotional regulation, dysregulation, and how emotions can look and feel different for everyone.

Students at Coleman Elementary explored how polar bears stay warm by learning about the important role blubber plays in Arctic environments! ๐Ÿปโ€โ„๏ธ

To experience this firsthand, students created a โ€œblubberโ€ layer by placing one hand in a glove inside a sealed bag while leaving the other hand uncovered, then tested both hands in ice-cold water.

Students quickly observed that the โ€œblubberโ€ hand stayed warmer and better protected, helping them understand how blubber keeps polar bears safe and warm in freezing conditions! โ„๏ธ
