Robertsville Elementary is very excited to share the addition of a new staff member. His name is Brutus Hill, and he is the therapy dog for our building. He spends most of his time in Mrs. Hill’s 4th grade class, but he regularly makes tours of the building with her to check up on everyone. The students in his class would like you to know how wonderful he is and how much just having him there helps them relax and focus on their tasks. Brutus has been in training to be a therapy dog since he was 12 weeks old, and now at 7 years of age he’s an old pro helping children and adults relieve their anxiety. Brutus loves his job. He even knows when he and Mrs. Hill are getting close to school and that he’ll see all of his friends soon! #MVNation

Students at Nike Elementary have really been using their imagination and producing work that aligns with our November Pillar Word of CREATIVITY! In Art class, Mrs. Patterson's PreK and 1st grade Scouts explored different ways to create leaf images. Our PreK friends were fortunate enough to go on a leaf hunt and use their findings to make texture leaf rubbings with oil pastel crayons. The 1st graders, however, used watercolors and cotton swabs to apply smaller leaves to their trees. Mrs. Patterson was impressed to see that some of her students remembered to color mix in order to find that perfect fall shade! Nice job, Nike Scouts!
