Nearly 50 members of the MVR-III District Leadership Team met on Tuesday, July 19, to prepare for the 2022-23 school year. Discussion centered around developing best practices for building-level Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and Problem-Solving Data Teams. These two areas were a focus of the High Reliability Schools training that administrators attended the week prior.

Counselors, principals, & teachers participated in a Youth Mental Health First Aid training. Why does mental health matter? One in five youth will experience a mental health challenge at some point during their life. National Suicide Prevention Liveline offers free services 24/7. The Pacific High School Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG) program was recognized at the JAG National Training in Las Vegas this week. PHS earned the 5-of-5 Award, which is bestowed upon those programs that meet or exceed performance measures in five categories: graduation rate, successful outcomes, employment, post-secondary enrollment, and job placement. Missouri earned a 5-of-5 Award as well, one of only seven states to reach this level.
JAG has a 12-month follow-up period with all seniors as part of its evidence-based, data-driven national model. The numbers are kept on the year prior graduates, so the data collected reflects the PHS Class of 2021. Learn more about the JAG program at https://jag-missouri.org/.
