Coleman's student employee program has been a great addition this school year. Students apply and are assigned jobs that help them practice and demonstrate our Pillars of Success, and each job represents one of our eight Pillars. Tasks include library aide, event team, reading morning announcements, pre-K and Kindergarten mentors, counselor assistant, social media model, and daily flag duty. #MVNation

Students in the Riverbend Middle School Medical Detectives PLTW course experienced a multi-day lesson focused on conducting patient interviews. Groups rotated through the classroom to interview five different medical patients. The purpose of the interviews was to gather information that could be used to help our "medical experts" determine what illness each patient has, how to treat it, and how to prevent getting the illness in the first place. They would then provide a diagnosis and treatment for a patient based on test results, patient interviews, and medical file information. This is #MVNation developing collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills!

Fourth grade students from across the district competed in the MVR-III Spelling Bee last week. Hosted at the PHS auditorium, competitors representing each building battled through several rounds to determine the champion. Congratulations to our top three finishers: 1st - Gunnar Swebilius (Nike), 2nd - Kyson Whisenhunt (Robertsville), & 3rd - Travis Helms (Coleman)!

March is National Kidney Month, and the Pacific Area 1335 Knights of Columbus made a $1,000 donation to the Alexavier’s Kidney Transplant Journey. Alexavier is a Riverbend student that received a new kidney on New Year’s Day 2024. He is getting stronger each day, and the Knights of Columbus gift will assist with medical expenses. #alexavierstrong Pictured from left to right: Bruce Johnson, Dr. Carrie Schwierjohn, Robert Murphy, Cleon Schnieder.
