Do you know someone age 50 or older who would enjoy helping a child build confidence and succeed in reading and math? 📚✨

Oasis Intergenerational Tutoring pairs volunteers age 50 and older with students in grades K-3 for one-on-one support each week throughout the school year. Volunteers may work with one child or several students, serving as tutors, mentors, and friends while helping students strengthen their reading and math skills and build meaningful relationships.

Volunteer training will be held Thursday, October 8, from 9:00am to 3:00pm at the MVR-III Central Office.

Meet MVR-III alum Becky Barton, Class of 2011. 🎓

Becky is an administrative assistant in Pacific, Missouri. She is most proud of graduating from college, becoming a wife, and now being a mother.

Becky says her time at MVR-III showed her how awesome the community is and made her realize she wanted to continue being a part of it even after graduating. Her experience playing high school softball also taught her how to be part of a team and work with others, skills she uses every day.

One of Becky's favorite memories is her very last at-bat during her senior year of softball, when she hit a home run over the fence.

Her advice for current students, in the words of Randy George: "Remember where you came from."

Bridging the Future is a special MVR-III tradition that connects our youngest Indians with our graduating seniors. 💜

At halftime of the Varsity football game on Friday, September 18, all kindergarten students are invited to join the seniors on the football field as we pass our Indian Pride from one generation to the next. Kindergarten students will begin on one side of the field, while seniors start on the opposite side. They will meet at midfield, where each senior will present a special gift to a kindergartner as a symbolic welcome to the MVR-III family.
